The Fine Print, Minus the Fog

Privacy Policy

I build websites on the promise that guides should own their data — so it would be pretty rich if I were careless with yours. Here’s exactly what this site collects, why, and what I do with it. In plain English, because that’s the only language I write in.

Who I am

This site — lexytabbert.com — is run by me, Lexy Tabbert, a marketing consultant and website builder for fishing guides and small businesses, based in Missouri River country, South Dakota. For anything privacy-related, email me at lexytabbert@hotmail.com.

What I collect, and why

The contact form. If you fill out the inquiry form, you’re sending me your name, email, phone number, business name, what you need, and whatever you write in the message box. I use that information for exactly one thing: replying to you about your inquiry. Submissions are stored securely in this website’s form system and delivered to my email.

I will never sell your information, rent it, trade it, or add you to a mailing list you didn’t ask for. An inquiry is a conversation, not a subscription.

Analytics. This site uses Google Analytics 4 to understand things like how many people visit, which pages they read, and how they found the site (a search, a link, a social post). This data is aggregated and doesn’t tell me who you are — I see “someone from South Dakota read the case study,” never “Bob read the case study.” Google Analytics uses cookies to do this. I also use Google Search Console, which shows me what search terms bring people here — again, with no names attached.

Server & security logs. Like nearly every website, this site’s hosting and security services (including Cloudflare) automatically log technical details such as IP addresses and browser types to keep the site fast and protected from abuse. I don’t use these logs to identify visitors.

Fonts. This site loads its typefaces from Google Fonts, which means your browser makes a request to Google’s servers when the page loads.

Cookies

Cookies here come from the analytics and security services above — there are no advertising pixels or ad-tracking cookies on this site. You can block or delete cookies anytime in your browser settings, and the site will still work fine. If you’d like to opt out of Google Analytics everywhere, Google offers a browser add-on for that.

Who your information is shared with

Nobody, in the way you’d worry about. The only parties that touch data from this site are the services that make it run: the web host, Cloudflare (security and performance), the form plugin that stores submissions, and Google (analytics and fonts), each governed by their own privacy policies. I don’t share, sell, or hand your contact details to any other person or company. If the law ever required me to disclose something, I’d have to comply — that’s true of every website you’ve ever visited.

How long I keep things

Form submissions stay in my form system and email so I have the history of our conversation — useful if you reach out again a season later. Analytics data is retained on Google’s standard schedule. If you want your inquiry deleted, just ask.

Your choices

  • See it: email me and I’ll tell you exactly what information I have from you.
  • Fix it: if something’s wrong or out of date, I’ll correct it.
  • Delete it: ask, and I’ll remove your form submissions and correspondence.
  • Skip the form entirely: you can always just email me directly instead.

Links to other places

This site links out to other websites — client sites like lakeoaheadventures.com, and my social profiles on Facebook, TikTok, and LinkedIn. Once you leave this site, their privacy policies apply, not this one.

Kids

This site is for working adults booking marketing services, and it isn’t directed at children under 13. I don’t knowingly collect information from them.

Changes to this policy

If how this site handles information ever changes — say I add a newsletter someday — I’ll update this page and the date at the top. No silent switcheroos.
